First Educational Mission


In 1872, the year when the Qing court sent its first dispatch of thirty teenage students in America, China had been left behind by the Industrial Revolution for more than a century. Chinese imperial government organized a group of thirty young scholars arrived in the U.S. However, the Mission was withdrawn at 1881. The imperial government worried that the students had been influenced by republican or anti-monarchical ideas.

首次教育性任务


一八七二当年清朝朝廷派遣第一批约三十位年青有为书生到美国留学。中国已与落后工业革命时代约一世纪。中国帝王政府组织一队约三十位年青学者到美国深照。但是,这任务在一八八一年取消了。原因时当年政府担心这一批送到海外留学的学者会被共和党或反君主制的想法影响。
